Form Field Range alternative
Form Field Range by Everest Web Deals fills Google Forms questions from a Google Sheet, like Form Ranger. It's free and has more than 216,000 installs. Audeza Choice Sync does the same job, plus limits per choice without formulas, and it asks for much less access.

Limits without formulas
Form Field Range's listing says you remove choices "using formulas in Google Sheets, like COUNTIF, VLOOKUP, MATCH". That means a helper column that counts responses per choice, a FILTER that drops the full ones, and pointing the question at the helper column. It works until someone renames a column in the responses sheet or sorts it.
Here, the add-on counts the form's responses itself on every sync. You pick a default limit or a column of limits, and that's it. Delete a response and its place opens at the next sync.
Permissions
Form Field Range asks to see and download all your Google Drive files, see, edit, create and delete all your spreadsheets, and send email as you. School and company admins often block add-ons with access that broad.
Audeza Choice Sync uses drive.file: it opens only the spreadsheet you pick in Google's file picker, and only the form it's open in. It can't send email from your account. Failure alerts come from alerts@audeza.com.
When Form Field Range is the better fit
It's free with no question limit, it can refresh several forms from one central sheet, and its schedules go up to monthly. If you populate many forms and never need limits, and your admin allows its permissions, it does the job. Audeza Choice Sync is free for 3 linked questions per form. Pro removes the limit for $49 a year.
Switch in five minutes
- Install Audeza Choice Sync, then open Add-ons (puzzle icon) > Audeza Choice Sync > Open in your form.
- Click Link and pick the question and the same source column. If you used a COUNTIF helper column, point at the original list instead and turn on the limit.
- Check the preview, save, and sync.
- Turn off Form Field Range for that question so the two don't overwrite each other.

Questions
Do I need formulas to remove taken choices?
No. Turn on the limit when you link the question. The add-on counts the form's responses itself, so there's no COUNTIF column to build or maintain.
Does it sync when I edit the sheet?
Not the instant you edit. No Forms add-on can watch a spreadsheet for edits, so syncs run after every response, every hour, and when you click Sync.
What happens if the column comes up empty?
The sync stops, the question keeps its last good choices, and you get an email that says what broke. The list is never wiped.
Is it free?
Free for 3 linked questions per form with every feature on. Pro removes the limit for $49 a year or $6 a month.
